Article: Sexy British actress Gemma Arterton -below ('St. Trinian's, 'Quantum of Solace', 'The Disappearance of Alice Creed', 'Clash of the Titans' and 'Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time') has been cast alongside Oscar-nominated actor Jeremy Renner ('The Hurt Locker', '28 Weeks Later') in Tommy Wirkola's 'Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters'. Arterton will play Gretel to Renner's Hansel in this retelling of the classic fairy tale. D.W. Harper wil be penning the script and Will Ferrell, Chris Henchy, Adam McKay and Kevin J. Messick will produce via Gary Sanchez Prods.
"The original take on the fairytale is set 15 years after the siblings killed the witch who kidnapped them. Hansel and Gretel have now evolved into bounty hunters who pursue witches."
Scheduling to shoot this baby has been difficult, what with Renner's jam-packed line-up of flicks coming up, but they've managed to sandwich him in from 7 March in Berlin in between his stints on two of his other current projects 'Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol' and 'The Avengers'. |
