Plot: The Ultimate Fighter is a reality television series and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition, originating from the United States, and produced by Spike TV and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). On this show, professional MMA fighters that have yet to make a big name for themselves are situated in a house outside of Las Vegas, Nevada and compete against each other for the title of The Ultimate Fighter, winning a six-figure, multi-fight contract with the UFC.

Article: The Ultimate Fighter 15 is the fifteenth installment of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)-produced reality television series The Ultimate Fighter. This season will mark the show's debut on the FX network as well as the debut of Jon Anik as the show's host.[1]

As part of the deal with FX, the show will undergo a revamp. Prior to season fifteen the show was shot in six weeks, edited and aired several months after filming was completed. Beginning with this season the show will be shot over thirteen weeks and edited "the week of" before being broadcast. In addition season fifteen will be the first to feature live fights.[2]

The UFC and FX held open tryouts on December 5, 2011, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The casting call went out for Lightweight and Welterweight fighters.[3] Some of the fighters that showed up for the tryouts included UFC veteran Jamie Yager, WEC veteran Blas Avena, Bellator veterans Rudy Bears, Zak Cummings, and Jacob McClintock, and K-1 kickboxer Kultar Gill.[4]

On December 6, 2011, it was announced that the coaches for the season would be Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber.[5]
